Lucent Academic Awards Program 2007
Since 1992, the Academic Awards Program has been helping employees put
their kids through college. Lucent is committed to continuing this
tradition, and is currently accepting applications for the 2007 awards.
This program, developed with the Communication Workers of America (CWA)
and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), awards
graduating high school seniors a grant worth up to $6,500 to be applied
toward college tuition, books, and room and board fees, for one academic
year of full-time study. Past recipients can apply for a renewal each
year for up to three years. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic achievement and volunteer service in the community and in school. Seniors with volunteer service, a cumulative grade point average of 3.25, and parents who are U.S.-based Lucent employees, are encouraged to apply. Applications must be postmarked by Dec. 31, 2006.
To obtain an application, visit the HR Web site at
